Endless beautiful beaches grace the coastline,
ideal for a relaxing day out or some activities
like donkey rides and building those magnificent
sand castles. Possibly the best way to appreciate
the breath-taking scenery is to take a trip
on the ROMNEY, HYTHE & DYMCHURCH RAILWAY. It
was first opened in 1927 and now covers thirteen
and a half miles absorbing the sights from the
Cinque Port of HYTHE to the lighthouses at DUNGENESS.
Trains run
daily from the beginning of April to the first
week of October providing plenty of enjoyment
for the whole family. Port Lympne wildlife sanctuary
is another highly recommended vist. It is perfect
for children to see many different animals and
for the adults to roam around the mansion house
and the lovely gardens. The area is rich with
fascinating history and places to explore. The
historic sight of Hastings to the impressive
cathedral in Canterbury are all simply unmissable
outings.
Even DYMCHURCH
has its share of interesting history with the
writer Russell Thorndyke and his books about
Dr. Syn. Every other year on the August Bank
Holiday weekend, you will be treated to an array
of fantastic activities in the Day of Syn Festival.
Storey reenactments, a village parade, impressive
beach battles and the firing of the cannon provides
terrific family entertainment
. The WATERSIDE
GUEST HOUSE is very accessable with plenty of
guest parking and is also only twenty minutes
from the Euro-Tunnel, perfect if you fancy a
trip across the channel to experience a slice
of France. After venturing out and around Kent
or popping over to France, the WATERSIDE GUEST
HOUSE is a lovely and relaxing place to return
to for the evening.
An excellant
range of meals are available with plenty of
quality local produce used for freshness and
that home cooked taste. All meals are served
in the charming cottage style dining room or
if the weather is nice what better than to dine
out on the waterside terrace.
After a satisfying
meal you can stay out on the terrace and finnish
the evening with a glass of wine and watch one
of the beautiful sunsets as it dissapears below
the horizon, orretreat into the oak beamed bar
